Lisa In The Wonderland - Muhammad Zubair

Artist Statement: Muhammad Zubair specializes in appropriation, infusing
classical masterpieces with a contemporary twist through his preferred mediums
of oil paints, acrylics, and gold foil. His structured creative process involves
selectively removing figures from classical paintings and introducing modern
elements like flowers, creating a unique visual dialogue that connects heritage
and modernity. In-depth research into the chosen painting's history informs the
transformation, resulting in symbolically rich artworks.

Biography: Lahore based Muhammad Zubair graduated with a Fine Arts degree in 2020,
marked his creative journey by being a part of various remarkable occasions,
including international exhibitions, a notable debut at Alhamra, participation in
VM Emerging Talent, and a show curated at Ejaz Art Gallery. A pivotal moment
was his solo exhibition at Main Frame in March 2023, shaping a significant
chapter in his evolving artistic narrative.
